El artista David de las Heras es el autor del cartel que anunciará la Itzulia Basque Country 2025 

• David de las Heras recibió el año pasado el Premio Euskadi de Literatura en la categoría de Ilustración de Obras Literarias y al igual que en los siete años anteriores le ha correspondido diseñar el cartel de la Itzulia Basque Country de este año 

• Con esta iniciativa, el departamento de Cultura y Política Lingüística pretende recuperar la tradición del cartelismo y dar ofrecer al colectivo de artistas nuevas oportunidades y espacios para dar a conocer su trabajo 

• El cartel se depositará en el Museo de Bellas Artes de Bilbao 

Ya se conoce el cartel que anunciará la Itzulia Basque Country y la Itzulia Women de este año se celebrará del 7 al 12 de abril y del 16 al 18 de mayo, respectivamente. Desde hace siete años el cartel de la Itzulia lo diseña la persona que gana el Premio Euskadi de Literatura en la categoría de ilustración de obras literarias. Este año la persona premiada y, por tanto, autora del cartel es David de las Heras. 

El Museo de Bellas Artes de Bilbao ha acogido este mediodía la presentación del cartel de la Itzulia y en ella han estado presentes el viceconsejero de Cultura, Andoni Iturbe, el presidente de OCETA (Organización Ciclista del País Vasco), entidad organizadora de la Itzulia, Javier Riaño; el autor, David de las Heras, y el director del Museo de Bellas Artes de Bilbao, Miguel Zugaza. Antes de la Guerra Civil, reconocidos artistas vascos realizaban las imágenes anunciadoras de la carrera y muchos de ellos están almacenados en el Museo de bellas Artes de Bilbao. En 2019, el Gobierno Vasco, de la mano del Museo de Bellas Artes de Bilbao, tomó la decisión de recuperar esta tradición. Desde entonces, la persona ganadora del Premio Euskadi de Literatura en la categoría de ilustración de obras literarias es la encargada de diseñar el cartel de la Itzulia. Posteriormente esa obra se deposita en el citado museo. 

David de las Heras ha explicado que en el cartel ha plasmado una reflexión sobre la relación entre el ser humano y el paisaje de Euskal Herria, cuyo carácter e identidad encuentra profundamente definidos. “Yo vivo en Barcelona y, cuando vuelvo a mi tierra, noto mucho el cambio al ir llegando a Euskal Herria. Esos montes, esos paisajes verdes, esas nubes…”, ha explicado. Para la realización de la obra, ha trabajado con óleo sobre papel, buscando transmitir la escala de la naturaleza en comparación con el ser humano. “Me gustaba la idea de cómo el hombre debe luchar y enfrentarse al esfuerzo de un camino difícil que le impone la naturaleza”, señala. 

El viceconsejero de Cultura, Andoni Iturbe, ha explicado que con esta iniciativa, desde el Gobierno Vasco queríamos recuperar una tradición, unir dos ámbitos como son arte y deporte y ofrecer a nuestros artistas nuevas oportunidades para dar a conocer su trabajo y llegar a públicos a los que normalmente no llegan. “El reconocimiento de los artistas es uno de nuestros ejes de trabajo y creemos que estar hoy aquí, en el Museo de Bellas Artes de Bilbao, conectando a diferentes agentes en un proyecto es una vía más para lograr ese objetivo”, ha afirmado. 

Desde la asociación organizadora de las carreras, Javier Riaño, ha querido mostrar su alegria por seguir con esta colaboración tan enriquecedora. En la que el arte y el deporte se funden en uno. “Deseamos poder seguir con esta sinergia muchos más años e ir viendo diferentes obras con las que representar nuestras carreras”, afirman. 

Por su parte, el director del Museo de Bellas Artes de Bilbao, Miguel Zugaza…Gracias a esta iniciativa, están depositados en el citado museo los diseños de Yolanda Mosquera, Asisko Urmeneta, Miren Asiain, Javier Isusi, Maite Mutuberria y Joseba Larratxe, premiados en la categoría de de Ilustración de Obras Literarias de los Premios Euskadi de Literatura, a los que se sumará el de David de las Heras. 

David de las Heras 

David de las Heras es artista plástico e ilustrador. Licenciado en Bellas Artes por la UPV/EHU y graduado en el ciclo de ilustración Escola Massana. Su obra pictórica ha sido expuesta en países como Alemania y Portugal. Como ilustrador ha publicado varios libros, entre los que se encuentran Martín de grumete a capitán y Atlas de la España imaginada. Especializado también en el diseño de portadas de libros, destaca su trabajo para el pianista James Rhodes y su portada para el libro Kalimán en 2015. Su trabajo se puede encontrar en periódicos, dominicales y suplementos culturales. En 2024 recibió el Premio Euskadi de Literatura en la categoría de Ilustración de Obras Literarias por “Campos de Castilla”. 

Itzulia Basque Country 2025 

La Itzulia Basque Country de este año se celebrará del 7 y 12 de abril. La edición de este año comenzará en Vitoria-Gasteiz y finalizará en Eibar. En total serán seis etapas: Vitoria-Gasteiz – Baskonia-Alavés; Pamplona-Lodosa; Zarautz-Beasain; Beasain - Markina-Xemein; Orduña - Gernika-Lumo; Eibar-Eibar. La Itzulia Women del 16 al 18 de mayo, todavía no se ha presentado de manera oficial el recorrido.

Dagoeneko ezagutzen da aurtengo Itzulia Basque Country eta Itzulia Women iragarriko dituen kartela. Itzuliak apirilaren 7tik 12ra eta maiatzaren 16tik 18ra bitartean egingo dira, hurrenez hurren. Duela zazpi urtetik hona, Literatura Lanen Ilustrazioa kategorian Euskadi Literatura Saria irabazi duen pertsonak diseinatzen du Itzuliaren kartela. Aurten David de las Heras da saritua, eta, horrenbestez, kartelaren egilea. Ilustratzaileak 2024ko Euskadi Literatura saria jaso zuen “Campos de Castilla” obrarekin. 

Bilboko Arte Ederren Museoak Itzuliaren kartelaren aurkezpena egin du gaur eguerdian, eta bertan izan dira Andoni Iturbe Kulturako sailburuordea, Javier Riaño OCETA – Organizaciones Ciclistas Euskadi Txirrindularitza Antolakuntzako (Itzulia antolatzen duen organizazioko) presidentea, David de las Heras egilea eta Miguel Zugaza Bilboko Arte Ederren Museoko zuzendaria. Gerra Zibilaren aurretik, euskal artista ezagunek egiten zituzten lasterketa iragartzeko irudiak, eta horietako asko Bilboko Arte Ederren Museoan daude gordeta. 2019an, Eusko Jaurlaritzak, Bilboko Arte Ederren Museoaren eskutik, tradizio hori berreskuratzeko erabakia hartu zuen. Harrezkero, Lan literarioen ilustrazioa kategorian Euskadi Literatura Saria irabazi duen pertsonak diseinatu du Itzuliaren kartela. Ondoren, lan hori aipatutako museoan gordetzea izan da konpromisoa. 

David de las Herasek azaldu duenez, gizakiaren eta Euskal Herriko paisaiaren arteko harremanari buruzko gogoeta bat islatu du kartelean. “Ni Bartzelonan bizi naiz eta, nire lurraldera itzultzen naizenean, asko nabaritzen dut aldaketa Euskal Herrira iristen ari naizenean. Mendi horiek, paisaia berde horiek, hodei horiek...”, azaldu du. Obra egiteko, olioarekin eta paper gainean lan egin du, gizakiaren aldean naturak duen eskala transmititu nahian. “Ideia hau atsegin nuen: nola gizakiak borrokatu eta aurre egin behar dion naturak ezartzen dion bide zail bati”, adierazi du. 

Andoni Iturbe Kulturako sailburuordeak azaldu duenez: ekimen honen bidez, Eusko Jaurlaritzan tradizio bat berreskuratu nahi genuen, hau da, artea eta kirola bezalako bi esparru elkartu, eta gure artistei aukera berriak eskaini beren lana ezagutzera emateko eta normalean iristen ez diren publikoengana iristeko. “Artistak aintzatestea gure lan-ardatzetako bat da, eta uste dugu gaur hemen egotea, Bilboko Arte EderrenMuseoan, proiektu batean hainbat eragile konektatuz, helburu hori lortzeko beste bide bat dela”, adierazi du. 

Lasterketak antolatzen dituen elkartearen aldetik, Javier Riañok bere poza erakutsi nahi izan du lankidetza aberasgarri honekin jarraitzeagatik, arteak eta kirolak bat egiten duten lankidetza honekin. “Sinergia honekin askoz urte gehiago jarraitu ahal izan nahi dugu, eta gure lasterketak irudikatzeko hainbat obra ikusi”, adierazi du. 

Bestalde, Miguel Zugaza Bilboko Arte Ederren Museoko zuzendariak...Ekimen honi esker, aipatutako museoan Yolanda Mosquera, Asisko Urmeneta, Miren Asiain, Javier Isusi, Maite Mutuberria eta Joseba Larratxeren diseinuak gordailututa daude, Euskadi Literatura Sarietako Literatura Lanen Ilustrazioa kategorian sarituak, eta horiei David de las Herasena gehituko zaie.

Artist David de las Heras is the designer of the poster announcing the 2025 Itzulia Basque Country competition 

• Last year, David de las Heras received the Euskadi Literature Prize in the Literary Illustration category, and, as in the previous seven years, he was assigned to design this year's Itzulia Basque Country poster. 

• With this initiative, the Department of Culture and Language Policy aims to revive the tradition of poster design and offer artists new opportunities and spaces to showcase their work. 

• The poster will be placed at the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum. 

The poster announcing this year's Itzulia Basque Country and Itzulia Women competitions is now available. These competitions will be held from April 7 to 12 and May 16 to 18, respectively. For the past seven years, the Itzulia poster has been designed by the winner of the Euskadi Literature Prize in the literary illustration category. This year, the winner and, therefore, the poster designer is David de las Heras. 

The Bilbao Fine Arts Museum hosted the presentation of the Itzulia poster this afternoon. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Culture Andoni Iturbe; Javier Riaño, President of OCETA (Basque Country Cycling Organization), the organizing body of the Itzulia; David de las Heras, the author; and Miguel Zugaza, Director of the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum. Before the Civil War, renowned Basque artists created the images announcing the race, and many of them are stored at the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum. In 2019, the Basque Government, in collaboration with the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum, decided to revive this tradition. Since then, the winner of the Euskadi Literature Prize in the category of literary illustration is responsible for designing the Itzulia poster. The work is then housed at the museum. David de las Heras explained that the poster reflects on the relationship between humankind and the landscape of the Basque Country, whose character and identity he finds deeply defined. “I live in Barcelona, and when I return to my homeland, I notice a great change as I arrive in the Basque Country. Those mountains, those green landscapes, those clouds…” he explained. To create the work, he worked with oil on paper, seeking to convey the scale of nature in comparison to humankind. “I liked the idea of how humanity must struggle and face the challenges of a difficult path imposed by nature,” he notes. 

The Deputy Minister of Culture, Andoni Iturbe, explained that with this initiative, the Basque Government wanted to revive a tradition, unite two fields such as art and sport, and offer our artists new opportunities to showcase their work and reach audiences they don't normally reach. “The recognition of artists is one of our pillars of work, and we believe that being here today at the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum, connecting different stakeholders in a project, is another way to achieve that goal,” he stated. 

From the association organizing the races, Javier Riaño expressed his joy at continuing this enriching collaboration, in which art and sport merge into one. “We hope to continue this synergy for many more years and see different works with which to represent our careers,” they statedor his part, the director of the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum, Miguel Zugaza… Thanks to this initiative, the designs by Yolanda Mosquera, Asisko Urmeneta, Miren Asiain, Javier Isusi, Maite Mutuberria, and Joseba Larratxe, winners in the Literary Works Illustration category of the Euskadi Literature Awards, are on display at the museum, along with that of David de las Heras. 

David de las Heras 

David de las Heras is a visual artist and illustrator. He holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) and is a graduate of the Escola Massana illustration program. His artwork has been exhibited in countries such as Germany and Portugal. As an illustrator, he has published several books, including Martín de Grumete a Capitán (Martin from Grumete to Captain) and Atlas de la España Imaginada (Atlas of Imagined Spain). He also specializes in book cover design, with notable work for pianist James Rhodes and his cover for the book Kalimán in 2015. His work can be found in newspapers, Sunday papers, and cultural supplements. In 2024, he received the Euskadi Literature Prize in the Literary Works Illustration category for "Campos de Castilla" (Fields of Castile).
